Il 13 giugno 1944, i maquisards guidati da René Vielle intercettarono un grosso convoglio tedesco alle porte di Grenade sur l'Adour. Per rappresaglia, la popolazione riunita in piazza ha assistito all'incendio degli edifici principali e all'arresto di cinquanta ostaggi, molti dei quali sono stati deportati
Nel 1999 è stato inaugurato il museo municipale, che raccoglie le numerose testimonianze di questo periodo buio.
Nel 2022, il museo ha incrementato la sua collezione, che è accompagnata da pannelli esplicativi, mescolando documenti amministrativi, lettere di deportati e testimonianze...
Un momento di commozione e ricordo per gli eroi di questo periodo buio della storia nazionale.
