Construido en el siglo XIV, forma parte del Grand Rempart de Verdun. Con forma de herradura, también se le conoce como Tour du Puty. El nombre de "Plaids" proviene de las audiencias judiciales que se celebraban allí en la Edad Media.

> La antigua muralla a lo largo del canal de Puty y la torre de Islot.
> El canal del Puty pasa por debajo de la Tour des Plaids. Es uno de los muchos canales del Mosa en Verdún. Estos canales recuerdan la época en que los talleres de curtidores, que trabajaban para el ejército, representaban una parte importante de la actividad industrial de Verdún.
