El Observatorio de Mérelle ofrece una vista panorámica de 360 grados.
Los exploradores, durante una excursión por las alturas de Gérardmer en julio de 1964, se encontraron en las alturas del lugar, dominando el lago de Gérardmer.
Nació entonces un proyecto: la construcción de esta soberbia atalaya de madera con 85 escalones en espiral y que ofrece una vista espectacular con, en primer plano, el lago de Gérardmer y, al fondo, la zona de esquí de las estaciones de Gérardmer, así como la Route des Crêtes.
