L'Osservatorio di Mérelle offre una vista panoramica a 360 gradi.
Gli esploratori, durante un'escursione sulle alture di Gérardmer nel luglio 1964, si trovarono sulle alture del sito, che domina il lago di Gérardmer.
Nacque così un progetto: la costruzione di questa superba torre di avvistamento in legno con 85 gradini a spirale che offre una vista spettacolare con, in primo piano, il lago di Gérardmer e, sullo sfondo, il comprensorio sciistico delle Stazioni di Gérardmer e la Route des Crêtes.
