Construido sobre pilotes a finales del siglo XIX, el comedor de oficiales es uno de los edificios necesarios para la vida militar. Fue ofrecida a la guarnición por las empresas encargadas de construir los fuertes, las obras y las baterías alrededor de Verdún. En 1890, la población militar era tan grande como la población civil. Muchos cuarteles siguen marcando el paisaje de Verdún.
