El ayuntamiento se construyó en 1935 en lugar del antiguo palacio de justicia del siglo XVII, que era demasiado pequeño para servir de ayuntamiento. Sobre los grandes ventanales de la sala de bodas se encuentra el escudo de la ciudad, rematado por una sorprendente cabeza de diablo, que sonríe a quienes buscan el origen del nombre Stenay... El quiosco, coronado por una lira, fue construido en 1894 en lugar de los edificios, el horno comunal y la sala de mercado construidos en la Edad Media.
