Description

Construido en el nacimiento del río Barse, las primeras piedras del castillo de Vendeuvre-sur-Barse se colocaron en el siglo XII. Sólo quedan algunos vestigios de su aspecto original, ya que su arquitectura ha sufrido numerosos cambios a lo largo de los siglos, hasta el siglo XIX, cuando Guillaume Gabriel Pavée de Vendeuvre lo rediseñó y le dio su aspecto actual.

Muchos personajes ilustres se han alojado aquí, entre ellos la familia Luxemburgo, los gobernadores de Champaña e incluso Luis XIII.

El castillo está clasificado como Monumento Histórico desde 1981, y su recinto, donde se celebran numerosos eventos a lo largo del año, está incluido en el Inventario General del Patrimonio Cultural.

El castillo está cerrado al público.
