San Martín, patrón de la iglesia de Conflans

Muy joven, en el año 337, en la puerta de Amiens, cortó su capa con la espada para ofrecer la mitad a un pobre que se moría de frío. La noche siguiente, tuvo una visión de Cristo vestido con el manto compartido
Se bautizó y se hizo amigo del obispo de Poitiers. Comenzó entonces una prodigiosa carrera como viajero y llegó a ser obispo de Tours. Martín murió el 8 de noviembre de 397 en Touraine. Poitevins y Tourangeaux se disputan sus restos. El cuerpo de Martín viaja en barco por el Loira hasta Tours. A su paso, todo vuelve a florecer. Así nació la expresión "l'été de la Saint-Martin" (el verano de San Martín) para los hermosos días de noviembre.
