San Martino, patrono della chiesa di Conflans
Simbolo del valore universale della condivisione, Martino nacque in Ungheria nel 316. All'età di 15 anni si arruolò nell'esercito romano. All'età di 15 anni si arruolò nell'esercito romano.
Giovanissimo, nel 337, alle porte di Amiens, tagliò il suo mantello con la spada per offrirne metà a un povero che stava morendo di freddo. La notte seguente ebbe una visione di Cristo che indossava il mantello condiviso!
Si fece quindi battezzare e divenne amico del vescovo di Poitiers. Iniziò quindi una prodigiosa carriera di viaggiatore e divenne a sua volta vescovo di Tours. Martino morì l'8 novembre 397 in Touraine. Poitevins e Tourangeaux si contendono le sue spoglie. Il corpo di Martino viaggia in barca sulla Loira fino a Tours. Sulla sua scia, tutto rifiorisce. È così che è nata l'espressione "l'été de la Saint-Martin" (l'estate di San Martino) per le belle giornate di novembre.
