Pequeña ciudad a orillas del río Aisne con numerosos comercios y servicios dominada por una escarpada roca en la que se pueden ver las ruinas de un castillo fortificado, así como la iglesia de Saint-Thibault (sólo desde el exterior) y la Maison Forte Wignacourt (sólo desde el exterior). En 1777, por descendencia y matrimonio, el principado de Château-Porcien pasó a la Casa de Mónaco. El recuerdo de esta alianza con la familia Grimaldi perdura, ya que SAS el Príncipe Alberto II de Mónaco heredó el título, ahora honorífico, de Príncipe de Château-Porcien
