La planta baja del campanario románico, con sus dos tramos, era el coro de la iglesia medieval de San Juan Bautista
Las pinturas murales recientemente restauradas muestran, entre otras cosas, la coronación de la Virgen María y varias figuras de santos
En 1777, el pastor Oberlin sustituyó la antigua nave por un espacio más acorde con el culto protestante, con bancos y galerías en tres lados y centrado en el púlpito
La iglesia de Fouday está vinculada sobre todo a la personalidad del párroco Jean Frédéric Oberlin, cuyos restos mortales reposan en el cementerio contiguo. En la cruz de hierro sobre su tumba se lee "Papa Oberlin", testimonio de la gratitud de sus feligreses por su labor social, educativa y espiritual
El conjunto formado por la iglesia y el cementerio está clasificado como monumento histórico.
