Este es un pueblo en el norte de Dorset, en el borde de la hermosa zona de Cranborne Chase. Shaftesbury es conocido por la encantadora calle que lleva a Gold Hill. Shaftesbury es un pueblo en el norte del condado de Dorset, en el sur de Inglaterra. Tiene más de seis mil habitantes y se encuentra en el borde de un área montañosa bellamente protegida, Cranborne Chase & West Wiltshire Downs. Parte del pueblo es el impresionante y frecuentemente fotografiado Gold Hill (ver foto), donde también se encuentra el museo del mismo nombre. Otra atracción es el sitio donde una vez estuvo la Abadía de Shaftesbury, que ahora cuenta con un museo y jardines. Más lejos, hay más lugares hermosos para visitar, como los famosos Jardines de Stourhead, Dinton Park, el Castillo de Old Wardour, el Castillo de Sherborne y el Viejo Castillo de Sherborne.
