La Abadía de Sweetheart, también conocida como Nueva Abadía, es una abadía cisterciense, situada en la región escocesa de Dumfries y Galloway, fundada a finales del siglo XIII por la señora Devorgilla como homenaje a su difunto esposo John Balliol, quinto barón de Balliol.
La casa madre de la Abadía de Sweetheart es la Abadía de Dundrennan, que se encuentra a 28 km de distancia. La fundación de la abadía fue realizada el 10 de abril de 1273 por Devorgilla, dama de Galloway, como homenaje a su difunto esposo John Balliol, quinto barón de Balliol. La abadía fue construida en el lugar donde el río Nirth desemboca en el Solway Firth. Cabe mencionar que John Balliol también fue el fundador en 1263 del Balliol College en Oxford.
