La congregación wesleyana en Cropredy se estableció alrededor de 1822, pero a principios de la década de 1880 había superado su primera capilla.
Se planeó una nueva capilla y se colocaron las piedras de fundación el lunes de Pascua 18 de abril de 1881. El arquitecto fue Edward Pincher de West Bromwich y la capilla, con una capacidad para 200 personas, se completó en agosto del mismo año. El constructor fue Thomas Cherry de Cropredy, supervisado por Caleb Mander de Banbury. El servicio de apertura se celebró el 26 de agosto de 1881, cuando el sermón fue predicado por el Rev. F.J. Sharr de Londres.
