La instalación tiene sus orígenes en el Workhouse de la Unión de Newtown Limavady, que fue diseñado por George Wilkinson y se completó en marzo de 1842. Se convirtió en el Hospital del Distrito de Limavady en 1932 y, después de unirse al Servicio Nacional de Salud en 1948, la instalación evolucionó para convertirse en el Hospital Roe Valley. Después de que los servicios se transfirieron al Hospital del Área de Altnagelvin, el Hospital Roe Valley cerró en 1997. Los edificios fueron posteriormente restaurados por la Iniciativa de Desarrollo Comunitario de Limavady, una organización benéfica local. En 2011, la instalación se utilizó como el lugar para una obra de una compañía de teatro local y continúa utilizándose para servicios de salud locales como clínicas de diabetes.
