L'établissement a ses origines dans le Newtown Limavady Union Workhouse conçu par George Wilkinson et achevé en mars 1842. Il est devenu l'hôpital de district de Limavady en 1932 et, après avoir rejoint le National Health Service en 1948, l'établissement a évolué pour devenir l'hôpital de Roe Valley. Après le transfert des services à l'hôpital de la région d'Altnagelvin, l'hôpital de Roe Valley a fermé en 1997. Les bâtiments ont ensuite été restaurés par l'Initiative de développement communautaire de Limavady, une association caritative locale. En 2011, l'établissement a été utilisé comme lieu pour une pièce de théâtre d'une compagnie de théâtre locale et il continue d'être utilisé pour des services de santé locaux tels que des cliniques pour le diabète.
