El monasterio de Arkadi es un monasterio ortodoxo, situado en una fértil llanura a 23 km al sureste de Rétino, en la isla de Creta .
La iglesia actual data del siglo XVI y está marcada por la influencia del Renacimiento, ya que la isla era entonces veneciana. Esta influencia es visible en la arquitectura que mezcla elementos románicos y barrocos. Esta iglesia de dos naves fue destruida por los otomanos en 1866,[cita requerida] y reconstruida posteriormente. Desde el siglo XVI, el monasterio fue un centro de ciencia y de arte, con una escuela y una biblioteca rica en libros antiguos. Se encuentra rodeado de murallas altas y gruesas y está situado en una meseta, el monasterio es una verdadera fortaleza.
