El río Aspropótamos y conicido también con el nombre Aqueloo ,[1] es un río de la vertiente del mar Jónico de Grecia que discurre por el noroeste del país, por la región de Epiro. Tiene una longitud de 217 km y drena una cuenca de 6329 km². En la Edad Antigua formaba la frontera entre Acarnania y Etolia. Su espíritu era reverenciado por los griegos como el dios-río Aqueloo.
