Via di Mezzo es una plaza central en el casco antiguo de Barga.
En 1870, la familia Capretz abrió un café debajo de la logia de los comerciantes del siglo XVI frente al ayuntamiento. En ese momento, el café se convirtió en el lugar de encuentro de la aristocracia y la vida intelectual de Barga.
El actual Cafè Capretz le da la bienvenida no solo en sus grandes espacios interiores y exteriores, sino también en su pequeña terraza que ofrece una vista única sobre Barga. En la terraza se dicta un epígrafe del poeta Giovanni Pascoli.
