El Museo Nacional de Historia Militar en Diekirch aborda principalmente la Ofensiva de las Ardenas en Luxemburgo en diciembre de 1944 y enero de 1945.
El enfoque del museo es la Ofensiva de las Ardenas desde la perspectiva americana, alemana y civil. Más de 3000 m² de superficie de exposición y numerosos dioramas a escala real ofrecen una visión de la dramática y trágica situación en la que se encontraban entonces soldados y civiles. Las salas de exposiciones muestran amplias colecciones de armas, uniformes y objetos de equipamiento militar, vehículos de ruedas y oruga, numerosos objetos personales, fotos, documentos y mapas. La pieza central del museo es el diorama detallado y fiel del cruce del Sauer en Diekirch el 18 de enero de 1945 por tropas de la 5.ª División de Infantería de EE. UU.
