Il Museo Nazionale della Storia Militare a Diekirch affronta principalmente l'offensiva delle Ardenne in Lussemburgo nel dicembre 1944 e gennaio 1945.
Il fulcro del museo è l'offensiva delle Ardenne vista da prospettive americane, tedesche e civili. Oltre 3000 m² di superficie espositiva e numerosi diorami a grandezza naturale offrono uno sguardo sulla drammatica e tragica situazione in cui si trovavano all'epoca soldati e civili. Le sale espositive presentano ampie collezioni di armi, uniformi e materiali militari, veicoli a ruote e cingolati, numerosi oggetti personali, foto, documenti e mappe. Il pezzo forte del museo è il diorama dettagliato e ricostruito del passaggio del Sauer a Diekirch il 18 gennaio 1945 da parte delle truppe della 5ª Divisione di Fanteria degli Stati Uniti.
