El plato de Rham en Luxemburgo está rodeado por tres lados por el Alzette. Ya estaba habitado desde muy temprano. Desde la construcción de la tercera muralla en el siglo XV, está integrado en la fortaleza de Luxemburgo.
Bajo el dominio francés, Vauban hizo construir aquí a finales del siglo XVII cinco cuarteles militares. Desde finales del siglo XIX, estos edificios albergan instalaciones sociales. Desde hace algunos años, el plato de Rham sirve como hogar de ancianos.
