Detrás del castillo hay una motte, rodeada por el foso del castillo. En esta motte, una colina artificial, se encontraba el castillo original. Junto al castillo hay una granja del castillo, el antiguo borchhof, que consta de tres alas alrededor de un gran patio interior. El motte se menciona por primera vez en el siglo doce.
