The current castle Wijnandsrade is located in the municipality of Nuth. It is a partially moated building consisting of three wings around a courtyard. Behind the castle lies a motte, surrounded by the castle moat. On this motte, an artificial hill, the original castle stood. Next to the castle is a castle farm, the former borchhof, consisting of three wings around a large courtyard. The motte castle is first mentioned in the twelfth century.
