El primer encanto natural que encontrará en la ruta es el Spoolderbos. Este singular rincón de la naturaleza fue creado en 1980 con motivo del 750 aniversario de Zwolle. Al otro lado del Willemsvaart, se encuentra el Spoolderberg. Mucho antes de que Zwolle se convirtiera en 1798 en la capital de Overijssel, la nobleza de Overijssel celebraba aquí sus dietas y el obispo de Utrecht administraba justicia.
