Vilsteren es un pueblo en el municipio de Ommen en la provincia holandesa de Overijssel. Está situado justo en la orilla izquierda del Vecht, entre Dalfsen y Ommen, a unos 17 kilómetros al este de la capital provincial de Zwolle. Vilsteren es un esdorp que fue mencionado por primera vez en 1233 como Hermanno de Vilsteren. En 1381, se estableció una casa señorial en el pueblo. La actual Huis Vilsteren data de 1908. Durante la Reforma, se construyó una iglesia clandestina en la finca, y Vilsteren es uno de los pocos pueblos que permanecen católicos romanos en lo que ahora es el Cinturón Bíblico protestante. La Iglesia de San Willibrord se completó en 1817. En 1840, tenía 146 habitantes.
