La Veluwe es la mayor área forestal de los Países Bajos. Grandes partes de la Veluwe están formadas por colinas de till que fueron empujadas por glaciares de la última edad de hielo (la edad de hielo Saale). La fuerza del hielo se puede apreciar un poco cuando se visita el punto más alto, el campo de Rozendaal. Este es también la colina de till más alta de los Países Bajos y el punto más alto de los Países Bajos fuera de Limburgo del Sur. Se encuentra a 110 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Este punto forma parte del Parque Nacional Veluwezoom, justo al norte de Rheden. Al norte se encuentran, entre otros, el área de arena móvil de Leuvenhorst y el bosque de Leuvenum.
