Die Veluwe ist das größte Waldgebiet der Niederlande. Große Teile der Veluwe bestehen aus Moränen, die von den Gletschern der letzten Eiszeit (der Saale-Eiszeit) aufgeschoben wurden. Die Kraft des Eises lässt sich ein wenig nachvollziehen, wenn man den höchsten Punkt, das Rozendaalsche Feld, betrachtet. Dies ist zugleich die höchste Moräne der Niederlande und der höchste Punkt der Niederlande außerhalb von Südlimburg. Es liegt 110 Meter über dem Meeresspiegel. Dieser Punkt gehört zum Nationalpark Veluwezoom, nördlich von Rheden. Im Norden liegen unter anderem das Dünengebiet Leuvenhorst und der Leuvenumwald.
