De Knipe es un pueblo en el municipio de Heerenveen, en la provincia de Frisia, Países Bajos. Un antiguo nombre era también Nieuw Brongerga, que todavía se puede encontrar en el nombre del edificio de la iglesia.
Aunque el municipio de Heerenveen utiliza nombres de lugares en neerlandés para todas las demás entidades oficiales, para De Knipe el nombre frisón es el oficial. Por el pueblo pasa el Schoterlandse Compagnonsvaart. Aquí había un knijp, un estrechamiento en el canal, y a esto debe su nombre el pueblo De Knipe. De Knipe estuvo hasta 1970 dividido en Bovenknijpe y Benedenknijpe y a menudo se le denominaba conjuntamente simplemente De Knijpe. Cuando en 1970 ambos pueblos se fusionaron, el nuevo nombre fue el frisón De Knipe.
