De Knipe è un villaggio nel comune di Heerenveen, nella provincia olandese di Frisia. Un antico nome era anche Nieuw Brongerga, che è ancora rintracciabile nel nome dell'edificio della chiesa.
Sebbene il comune di Heerenveen utilizzi i nomi olandesi per tutti gli altri nuclei ufficiali, per De Knipe il nome frisone è ufficiale. Attraverso il villaggio passa il Schoterlandse Compagnonsvaart. Qui si trovava un knijp, un restringimento nel canale, e da questo deriva il nome del villaggio De Knipe. Fino al 1970 De Knipe era diviso in Bovenknijpe e Benedenknijpe e veniva spesso chiamato insieme semplicemente De Knijpe. Quando nel 1970 i due villaggi furono uniti, il nuovo nome divenne il frisone De Knipe.
