Hummelo es un antiguo municipio y pueblo neerlandés en el municipio de Bronckhorst en Achterhoek, en la provincia de Gelderland. Hummelo contaba, a 1 de enero de 2021, con 1.645 habitantes. Hummelo se menciona por primera vez en un documento del año 828. El nombre se puede explicar de varias maneras. Podría ser una combinación del germánico humulan, como una combinación de hummel y lauha. Así que una colina boscosa donde crece el lúpulo. También podría ser un nombre propio con lo relacionado con loo para bosque.
