Dalen, Drents: Daol'n) es una aldea en la provincia neerlandesa de Drenthe. Se encuentra al norte de la ciudad de Coevorden y tenía aproximadamente 3.935 habitantes el 1 de enero de 2021. Desde el 1 de enero de 1998 forma parte del municipio de Coevorden. El nombre Dalen aparece por primera vez en una lista de ingresos al cabildo de la Catedral de Utrecht de 1225. Los documentos oficiales más antiguos en los que se menciona el nombre Dalen datan de 1276. Mencionan que en el año 1276, Hindricus van Borculo, conde de Coevorden, tuvo que pronunciar un fallo en una disputa entre el monasterio de Assen y los residentes de Dalen. El descubrimiento de estos antiguos documentos llevó a que Dalen celebrara de manera grandiosa su 700 aniversario en el año 1976, bajo la dirección del entonces alcalde Ivo Opstelten.
