Se encuentra cerca del Mar de Wadden, al noreste de Franeker y al noroeste de Leeuwarden, entre Sint Jacobiparochie y Vrouwenparochie. A través del pueblo fluyen el Noordervaart y el Zuidervaart, así como entre otros el Blikvaart y el Zuidhoekstervaart. Las carreteras N383 y N393 se encuentran en el pueblo. En 2021, Sint Annaparochie tenía 4.830 habitantes. Así, es el pueblo más grande del municipio de Waadhoeke, solo la ciudad de Franeker tiene una población mayor. Hasta la reorganización municipal del 1 de enero de 2018, Sint Annaparochie era la principal comuna del antiguo municipio het Bildt.
