Gendringen es una aldea neerlandesa del municipio de Oude IJsselstreek, que pertenece a la región de Achterhoek en la provincia de Gelderland. La aldea tiene 4,340 habitantes y se encuentra junto al río Oude IJssel. Gendringen está situada directamente en la frontera entre Alemania y los Países Bajos y tiene un paso hacia la localidad vecina de Anholt, que forma parte de la ciudad de Isselburg. La frontera nacional se extiende en dirección oeste-este al sur de Gendringen. En el lado neerlandés, Gendringen limita con los municipios de Montferland, Doetinchem y Aalten.
