Lekkerkerk es una aldea lineal que está fuertemente orientada hacia el río. En el lugar de la actual iglesia reformada holandesa (originalmente reformada neerlandesa), la construcción lineal se ha densificado y ha ocurrido una formación de asentamiento.
La Krimpenerwaard, en la que se encuentra Lekkerkerk, se divide en diferentes polders. Cerca de Lekkerkerk están el Polder Schuwagt en el oeste y el Polder Den Hoek en el este. Lekkerkerk está situado a la orilla del Lek.
