Rolde es una aldea en el municipio de Aa en Hunze en la provincia de Drenthe, situada en el Rolderrug. Originalmente es una aldea de es y también cuenta con varias brinken. La aldea se encuentra en la N33 entre Assen y Eemshaven.
El nombre Rolde proviene de Rotlo, más tarde Roetlo. La última forma se transformó por metátesis en Roelte, y posteriormente cambió a Rolde. El significado puede ser: roetlo = 'bosque rojo', comparable con Grolloo, pero también es posible que roetlo = 'bosque desbrozado'.
