Alphen en Riel es un antiguo municipio en la provincia de Noord-Brabant. El municipio se formó por decreto imperial de Napoleón del 8 de noviembre de 1810 mediante la fusión de las aldeas de Alphen y Riel. Hasta ese momento, Alphen tenía su propio banco de síndicos al que también pertenecía Chaam. Con la creación de Alphen y Riel, Chaam fue separado de Alphen. Riel pertenecía a la fusión en el banco de síndicos de Hilvarenbeek.
