El Consejo de Investigación de Seguridad es un organismo autónomo en los Países Bajos que puede investigar las causas y consecuencias de incidentes relacionados después de desastres, grandes accidentes u otros tipos de incidentes. Este organismo se estableció el 1 de febrero de 2005 como sucesor del Consejo de Seguridad del Transporte, que a su vez fue el sucesor del Consejo de Accidentes Ferroviarios, el Consejo de Aviación y la Comisión de Ley de Desastres de Navegación Interior. También el Consejo Marítimo se convirtió en parte de la OVV en 2005.
El trabajo del Consejo de Investigación se centra en mejorar la seguridad y prevenir accidentes en el futuro. El exministro de Finanzas Jeroen Dijsselbloem es el presidente del Consejo de Investigación.
