La iglesia data de 1927 y es un conocido ejemplo del trabajo de Jan Stuyt, quien es considerado uno de los principales constructores de iglesias del siglo XX. Stuyt construyó la iglesia en estilo neorrománico y esa es la principal razón por la que el edificio ahora figura en la lista de monumentos nacionales. La iglesia se construyó junto a la antigua iglesia de Trudo, que fue demolida alrededor de 1929. En la parte superior de la fachada de la iglesia hay una estatua del santo San Trudo. Dentro de la iglesia se pueden ver algunas obras de arte del siglo XVII, como esculturas de alabastro, pinturas y confesionarios tallados en roble. La rectoría junto a la iglesia es una mansión del tardío siglo XVIII.
