En la cima de Heunsberg en Valkenburg se encuentra las Wilhelminatoren, una torre de observación de 1906. Este monumento nacional de treinta metros de altura está construido de marl en estilo neogótico con ventanas de arco apuntado y gárgolas.
La construcción de esta torre fue una respuesta a una torre de observación de madera en Cauberg (que ya no existe). En ese entonces, había dos asociaciones rivales en Valkenburg para promover el turismo.
Esta torre encaja perfectamente en la imagen de época de Valkenburg como un destino turístico emergente.
