Oud-Herlaer era un castillo en el Dommel, situado en el oeste de Sint-Michielsgestel, prácticamente frente al Castillo Maurick que se encuentra en Vught. El castillo recibió el nombre de Oud-Herlaer solo cuando un kilómetro río arriba se construyó un nuevo castillo, que fue llamado Nieuw-Herlaer.
Una vez, este castillo fue la sede del importante señorío de Herlaer (Herlaer), que también otorgaba feudos. La lista de señores y señoras de Herlaer incluye a varios linajes nobles significativos.
