Este primer viaduct construido en Zelanda Occidental fue creado para preservar la Graaf Jansdijk en el lugar y dar más espacio a la línea de tren (54) Mechelen-Terneuzen que se estableció ya en 1871. El viaduct de 1912 con barandillas de hierro forjado es un temprano ejemplo de construcción utilitaria con hormigón armado y desde 2005 es considerado un monumento industrial. Debajo del puente se encuentra un monumento en forma de paso a nivel, que también es un punto de descanso en la ruta de senderismo Spoorpad.
