Este monumento con una placa de metal se encuentra en el lugar donde se reforzó el fuerte Frederik Hendrik con una batería costera de 4 cañones como parte del Antlantikwall en la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
Bajo el nombre de Stützpunkt Hendrik, esta batería se encargaba de la defensa de la desembocadura del Escalda. En 1954 se despejaron todas las obras y se reforzó el malecón.
