Aquest monument amb una placa metàl·lica es troba al lloc on es va reforçar el fort Frederik Hendrik amb una bateria costanera de 4 canons com a part de l'Antlantikwall a la Segona Guerra Mundial.
Sota el nom de Stützpunkt Hendrik, aquesta bateria s'encarregava de la defensa de la desembocadura de l'Escald. L'any 1954 es van netejar totes les obres i es va reforçar el dic.
