A través del pequeño trozo de brezo y de nuevo una valla (¡CUIDADO<, estás inmediatamente en el carril bici!) cruzamos el Boissevain y llegamos a la Blaricummerheide. Esta zona de brezo de aproximadamente 59 ha está bajo la gestión del Reserva Natural Goois. Es un paisaje de brezo abierto con una excavación de arena en el medio. (Más sobre esto en el siguiente punto). El pastoreo por parte del rebaño de ovejas de Drenthe mantiene el brezo abierto. Ellos comen hierba, como el jaral, entre el brezo y en primavera comen los tiernos y jóvenes arbolitos antes de que tengan la oportunidad de crecer. También les gusta picar las matas de brezo, lo cual es bueno porque estimula el crecimiento.
El brezo alberga una biodiversidad especial que se encuentra en pocos otros lugares de Europa. Piensa en el pío de brezo (mariposa) y la víbora.
