Bærum es un municipio en la provincia de Akershus, en Noruega. Bærum fue establecido como municipio el 1 de enero de 1838 y es un suburbio de Oslo, localizado en la costa oeste de la ciudad. Sandvika es el centro administrativo de Bærum. Es conocido por ser el más opulento y caro de los municipios noruegos, y sus residentes son considerados de clase alta. Cuenta con una población de 120 685 habitantes según el censo de 2015.[1]
El área conocida hoy como Bærum fue una fértil zona agrícola durante la Edad del Bronce y se han encontrado vestigios arqueológicos de la Edad del Hierro. La primera mención del nombre data de alrededor de 1200 en la Saga de Sverre. Existen ruinas de iglesias de piedra de los años 1100 en Haslum y Tanum.
