Rize ; en georgiano, რიზე ; en armenio, Ռիզե ) es una ciudad costera y un distrito del mar Negro situada al noreste de Turquía y capital de la provincia de Rize. Cuenta con una población de &&&&&&&&&&094800.&&&&&094 800 habitantes[1] . Su antiguo nombre era Rhizaeum.
La ciudad está situada sobre unas colinas que bajan hasta el mar, con su centro comercial en una estrecha franja llana de la bahía. Rize disfruta de un clima templado y una exuberante vegetación. Está unida por carretera con Trebisonda , Hopa , y Erzurum y por barco con Estambul.
