Jefferson es una zona mayoritariamente rural del sur de Oregón y el norte de California en los Estados Unidos que en varias ocasiones en los siglos XIX, XX y XXI ha abogado por constituirse en estado. La región es la más conocida de las que han intentado constituirse con ese nombre en honor de Thomas Jefferson, aunque no la única.
Las dos aspas del escudo estatal representan a Sacramento, capital de California y a Salem, capital de Oregón.
