Terfens est une commune avec 2252 habitants dans le district de Schwaz en Tyrol. La commune est située dans le district judiciaire de Schwaz. Jusqu'au 1er avril 1928, la commune faisait partie du district d'Innsbruck. Terfens se trouve dans la vallée inférieure de l'Inn, à environ 20 km à l'est d'Innsbruck. L'Inn forme la limite sud de la commune, tandis qu'au nord et à l'est, elle est délimitée par le ruisseau Vomper, qui se jette dans l'Inn.
