Le bâtiment rectangulaire baroque a été construit entre 1655 et 1658 par le fondateur de la laiterie en laiton, Karl Aschauer von Lichtenturn. Au 18ème siècle, un aile est a été ajoutée. Depuis 1855, Achenrain est la propriété des comtes Taxis-Bordogna. Sur l'axe central de la façade principale, un clocher octogonal avec un dôme en oignon se détache. Aux angles du bâtiment, il y a des saillies, également avec des dômes en oignon. Le portail est constitué d'un entourage quadrillé et d'un fronton triangulaire. Dans le château se trouve une chapelle. Les bancs ont été réalisés vers 1660.
